Breaking Boundaries Retreat and the study of Pratyahara(10 - 12 March 2023)

What is Pratyahara? 

Pratyahara is derived from two Sanskrit words: prati and ahara, with ahara meaning gathering, and prati, a preposition meaning towards. Together they mean "checking the outgoing powers of the mind, freeing it from the thraldom of the senses ahara".

Weekend Itinerary: 

Day 1 - Friday: 

13:00 - 14:00 Check-in and "getting to know you" introduction. 

14:00 -16:00  Garden Yoga Studio Session with Carol:

- Fusion Yoga Breathe & Guided Relaxation Meditation 
- Talk on Pratyahara
- Journaling (booklets & pens will be provided)

16:00 - 18:00 Free time to relax, enjoy the gardens, swimming pool & jacuzzi. 

18:00 - 19:15 Dinner (Main Meal & Dessert)

19:30 - 20:15 Yin Yoga with Carol & Kirsten: "healing the mind, finding stillness"

Day 2 - Saturday:

10:00 - 17:00 Enjoy Spa Treatments and use of the Swimming Pool, Jacuzzi, Garden & Restaurant Facilities. 

- 25 minute Back & Neck Massage (choose between Aromatherapy, Swedish, Hot Stone or Vanilla-Coconut Massage)
- 25 minute Hands- or Feet Exfoliation & Massage.

Your Host - Carol Twigg

Carol has run many yoga retreats over the past 3 years. She has a passion for sharing her knowledge of yoga and the Empowerment it gives her students both on and off the mat.

I continue to study the traditions and Philosophy of yoga as well as the traditions of Chinese medicine, this is where my love of Yin comes in so I decided to study this too. I will always be a student of the practice and am deeply grateful for the loving wisdom my teachers have shared with me."

Kerstin Mattukat

Kerstin's flow sequences are a refelection of her love for yoga. The intention of her classes is to allow the practitioner to discover the beauty in their practice and body. Kerstin is a qualified Vinyasa and Yin yoga instructor. Her core belief is that "yoga assists us in navigating through this life with the integrity and love, allowing us to shine our own individual light upon the world

Swain Murray

Swain is one of 3 Wim Hof certified instructors in South Africa. He trained at the WHM innerfire academy in Przesieka, Poland.

"From a life spent in close proximity to the Atlantic ocean and the majestic mountains of the western cape, I've filled my days with outdoor pursuits from surfing to rock climbing to mountain biking. After finding and falling in love with the WHM I have found a deeper and more spiritual connection to nature, to others and to myself. My excitement, energy and passion for the method are all among that which I wish to pass on to any potential future participants. Let's breathe deep, take a dip and share the love. X"


Maria is an integrative nutritional health coach, she will be overseeing a gentle hatha yoga session designed to compliment the WHM breath work. 

Laetitia van der Walt

Laetitia is a practitioner of Holistic treatments to assist the body and mind for true relaxation, healing & rejuvenation. Laetitia is trained and qualified to provide the following Holistic treatments: Qi-Gong, Sound Therapy, Crystal Healing, Reiki, Abhyanga Massage, Nature Therapy such as "Forest Bathing", Art Therapy, Cacao & Tea Ceremonies. Laetitia is also a 200 Hour Certified Yoga Teacher in Hatha Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra.
